How to perform it

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand at shoulder height with your palms facing forward.
  2. Lower by bending your knees and hips as if sitting into a chair, keeping your chest up and your weight through your heels.
  3. Continue until your thighs are parallel to the floor or comfortably below parallel.
  4. Exhale as you push through your heels to return to the starting position.
  5. Keep your core engaged throughout the movement.
